Here's one of those healthy breakfast posts promised to bombard you with!
I love trying out new little concoctions and letting my taste buds take me on a wild adventure, this ones my favourite to date.
I've been having a secret love affair with peanut butter over the last few months anyway (after finding out I don't hate the stuff) living without it seems a strange concept to me now. So adding this to my healthy breakfast idea was an absolute delight! I had also come across 'goji berries' and having done some research I found they are suppose to work wonders on your skin.. I thought what the hell I'll try it out, but then I bought some from Holland and Barrett to later realise I am not a massive fan of eating these things on their own.. but as an ingredient I kinda really like them!
So I know what your thinking, bread isn't healthy, honey isn't healthy and peanut butter isn't healthy?
BUT wholewheat toast is a complex carbohydrate and takes longer to break down meaning they keep you fuller for longer where as white bread is a simple carbohydrate which doesn't take long to break down and turns straight into sugar!
Honey may not be the height of health foods but theres no doubt that its much better for you than sugar and is also a complex carbohydrate, its a taste of the earths natural sweetness and is rumoured to have many health benefits along side that amazing taste.
Finally peanut butter? well its a great source of protein and fibre, not to mention the nutritious value.
And we must not forget that this is breakfast, we are fuelling ourselves up for the day!
Try it, you might just love it!
